Lindisfarne Castle goes modular

19 August 2004
Heuga carpet tiles have become a part of history! Just as Henry VIII protected Lindisfarne Island from the Scots, Heuga carpet tiles are now protecting floorboards at Lindisfarne Castle from degradation.

Carpet tiles from Heuga were selected because they could be installed without the harmful effects of tacking. Modular flooring is, of course, easier to handle than conventional broadloom as there is no underlay or seaming to slow down installation.

Catherine Atkinson of the National Trust says: "Although it seems an unusual match-up, carpet tiles are actually ideally suited to historic buildings."

With its IBM accreditation and superior fire retardant properties, Home Office was selected for the castle's kitchen and office areas. True Colours, also from the Heuga brand, was selected for the shower room.
