Constructing a wind turbine in India

We have helped to fund the construction of a 0.8 MW wind turbine in the Karnataka in Southern India.

The majority of electricity in India is generated from coal, which has high CO₂ emissions. A conservative estimate is that the turbine will generate 1.8 million kWh of electricity per year -enough to power 550 UK homes.

The turbine is expected to save in the region of 1,300 tonnes of CO₂ a year.
