InterfaceFLOR carpet tiles receive BRE Global certification

As part of its commitment to sustainability, InterfaceFLOR products are now tested under standards set by BRE Global Limited, part of the BRE Trust, a charitable company whose objectives are to advance knowledge, innovation and communication in all matters concerning the built environment for public benefit.

Reducing the impact on the environment

All InterfaceFLOR carpet tile ranges tested by BRE Global Ltd have been certified with an 'A' Rating in the BRE Green Guide to Specification, representing good environmental performance.

By achieving the ‘A’ rating on all tested carpet tile ranges, InterfaceFLOR has demonstrated that it makes a reduced impact on the environment through the manufacture of its products, compared with the industry average. This means that when a customer chooses to use ‘A’ rated products, they are reducing the environmental impact of the building when it is assessed under BREEAM (BRE Environmental Assessment Method).

BRE Environmental Assessment Method

To qualify for BREEAM, a building is assessed against specific environmental weightings and credits are awarded in each area, according to performance.

BREEAM is regarded by the UK’s construction and property sectors as the measure for best practice in environmental design and management, and its success can be attributed to its unique ability to cover a wide range of environmental issues within one assessment.

'Total sustainability by 2020'
